SOCKTOBER: A Month Long Community Sock Drive

Due to COVID-19, Socks & Souls will unfortunately not be hosting any Socktober Sock Drives in 2020 in order to help keep everyone safe!

Every October, we here at Socks & Souls want to prove that even the smallest act of caring, like donating a pair of new socks, can help make a huge difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless which is why we host a variety of Socktober Collections!

Do you want to be a part of our Socktober Collections? Check out who is participating near you via our previous year's Socktober Illinois Locations Link! Then fill out this Google Survey to become a location donation site or feel free to contact us with questions if needed!

Wait, what is SOCKTOBER?!? Well if you didn't know already, SOCKTOBER is a national sole warming movement that gives everyone an easy and fun way to help those in need within their very own town! All anyone needs in order to participate is a new pair of socks and Socks & Souls will help you do the rest, as we are hosting our own Illinois SOCKTOBER collections through the help of some of our soul warming friends!

Watch the video below for some inspiration with SOCKTOBER:

Did you know that SOCKTOBER was launched a few years ago by Kid President with Brad Montague and has it become an ever going soul, and sole, warming success ever since?

So why SOCKTOBER? Because every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets and need simple things, like socks, to help get them through the night. Plus the number one needed clothing item for those in need is new socks, but people very rarely ever donate new socks to the homeless!

Kid President got some soul warming help for SOCKTOBER from his friend Grover! Together, these two are on a mission with us to let you know that donating socks is easy and you can make a difference one sole at a time! Be like us and help us warm souls through soles this #SOCKTOBER!

So where can you donate some socks to this SOCKTOBER? Look on the previous year's Socktober Illinois Locations Link for an Illinois town near you and visit any of the soul warming places listed as they have partnered up with us and we will be delivering all the sole warmers they collect to those in need at the end of SOCKTOBER!

A big soul warming Socks & Souls 'Thank You' goes out to the Glendale Heights Home Depot for supplying Sock Collection bins in the past for participating locations - we could not sponsor such a great cause without your help!

Are you a location outside of Illinois that wants to participate in Socktober? If so, feel free to Contact us for some soul warming help in setting up your own Socktober collection site!
